Have you ever been to the Tavern On The Hill? This beautiful patio is located in downtown Ottawa and has one of the best views in all of the city!
The Tavern On The Hill is a seasonal outdoor canteen and bar located at the north end of Major’s Hill Park right across from the National Gallery of Canada. The picturesque Ottawa patio serves a variety of goodies and drinks from morning to night! They are well-known for their gourmet hot dogs (the Seoul Sista Dawg is always a top favourite among my friends), tacos, and sandwiches. Also, they serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages ranging from wines to lemonades and even ice cream for dessert! No matter what, you are guaranteed to find something delicious to enjoy while taking in the scenic view.

From the outdoor patio, you can see many famous landmarks! This includes Parliament Hill, The Chateau Laurier, The Supreme Court of Canada, the Ottawa River, the Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica, and the National Gallery of Canada! Also, restaurant-goers are just a short walk away from the Alexandra Bridge and crossing over to Gatineau, Quebec. A perfect evening or nighttime walk with your friends or date after spending an hour or two at the relaxing patio.
Additionally, the family-friendly patio also has live jazz music on Sundays, Tuesdays + Thursdays evenings! This of course depends on weather and Covid restrictions, but you are always guaranteed some amazing local artists and band performances throughout the night. Some of my favourite local artists include Jeff Rogers (vocals like honey), Ben Cooper Duo, and Isabelle Nicole.

Parking
Conveniently, the patio has nearby parking (Just below the park), but it can be expensive if you are planning on staying for a longer period of time. It may be easier and cheaper to park on a side street or a designated parking area where you can then walk over to the patio.
